About

You are a stay at home Mom and do what?

Some people consider me a crafter, a seamstress, a "monogrammer" (chuckle!)...a dreamer. My pursuit is to take high quality apparel and accessories for children and add a splash of creativity to them. I give them character, so to speak. My expertise is personalizing these products with embroidery stitches.

Often times I use a sewing technique called "applique". It means I take a base product (such as baby blankets, tees, etc.) and apply a layer of fabric, then stitch it in place using a machine. However, sometimes I keep it simple and adorn the garments with traditional stitching. Anyway you look at it, I take something plain and make it better. In a nutshell - I'm a customizer. My name is Erin Perry and I call Cherryville, NC home. I started doing embroidery in 2008 just after the arrival of my son, Bryson (born 9/07). Prior to this business venture, I was a Labor and Delivery RN. My husband, Scott, is a Captain at Charlotte Fire Department. Crazy work schedules did not allow for adequate childcare for our son, so I stepped down from my position to be a stay at home Mom. I can't honestly say exactly what made me choose embroidery as a business venture. It was kind of an impulse! I have always been fascinated with it and thought it would be fun to learn how to do it. I've taken classes to learn the mechanics and the machine functions. I've combined my creativity with some awesome products and have a fun business as a result. I can't imagine doing anything else now. I must mention that I now have a second son, Brent, who was born 10/11.

Yes, I do this full time - all hours of the day and night. Would you ever catch me sewing in the wee morning hours? Frequently! Besides sewing, I enjoy cooking, anything crafty, outdoor activities (a must with 2 boys!) and spending time with my family and friends. Oh yeah, I also own and operate Elite Fire Apparel - www.EliteFireApparel.com.

Thanks for reading my story!

~Erin
