The concept for this show/performance involves acknowledging the un-selfconscious bonds we share with strangers; and then creating new, self-conscious, invisible ties between strangers that will exist in the everyday, but without our knowing exactly how. A T-shirt is a common everyday object, but imbued with artistic rarity, it becomes a coveted and powerful object—the perfect paradox for this show—exclusive but attainable.

20 artists were selected, 10 from Tijuana, MX and 10 from San Diego, CA. each artist created 2 shirts, to be exhibited at galleries on each side of the border. the culmination of the exhibit, is the sale of the t-shirts. The idea is that the buyers of the shirts create invisible ties with the buyers of their shirts identical pairing. A map of the locations where the shirts end up will give us a visual of the experimental art project. The proliferation of art from one side of the US/Mexico border to the other, to the rest of the world...
