About

As an artist, I am always looking for that next thing that will start my creative juices flowing. A few years ago I saw something that piqued my interest. Since I am primarily a Beadwork Artist, I look for things to incorporate into my beadwork. As an artist, I am always looking for that next thing that will start my creative juices flowing. A few years ago I saw something that piqued my interest. Since I am primarily a Beadwork Artist, I look for things to incorporate into my beadwork. I have often used cabochons of gemstones such as turquoise or goldstone etc., but I wanted something more, something fresh and new. Then I saw it. It would come in many varieties of appearance. I decided to open a second shop on Etsy (I have one here for my beadwork) to sell my cabochons a little over a year ago in April of 2011 and it has just kind of snowballed from there. I have sold over a thousand of them here on my Etsy site and many to bead stores and private showings as well.
There is a Glass Art Cabochon for everyone that speaks to them as well. You only have to find the image that mesmerizes you and sends your imagination and sense of well being soaring. Each one means something different to each person. It might remind you of a time long forgotten or something you may aspire to. What ever your passion or obsession awakens in you there is always an image you can capture in glass to remind you of that enthusiasm and zeal so you can hold on forever…
My name is Sandy Spivey and I am a retired bookkeeper from Central California. I am married with 4 grown children and 3 wonderful grandchildren who constantly inspire me. I am happy to share my art with those who are also inspired by and appreciate something different. If you can dream it...I can make it!
I have had a shop on Etsy since 2008 under the name of Sandys Treasure. You can check me out there at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/sandystreasure
I love doing custom cabochons with your child's picture or your pet's or any image you like except a copyrighted image. Please contact me with your requests and lets talk about it!
