Greg and Sarah Graupp's Profile

About

My name is Greg and story begins in Pennsylvania, where I have lived all my life. My father, Fred Graupp, began cabbing in 1967 when I was just 8 years old. Although he is an electrician by trade, over the years he became well known in the Northeastern United States for his lapidary skills. Growing up, I would work beside him, cabbing a few stones here and there as a hobby.
During that time, Dad was always on the lookout for newly discovered minerals and has accumulated a vast inventory of various mineral species which he now shares with me. This allows me to keep my prices low for these hand cut and polished cabochons.

In 2002, being a bit older, wiser, and did I mention older, I left my career as a forklift mechanic and began cutting and cabbing minerals full time, honing my skills under my Dad's watchful eye. I mostly sold my cabochons and mineral slabs at Gem and Mineral Shows, then later, at Bead Shows in the Northeastern United States.

In the Summer of 2012, after a few years of doing 43+ trade shows a year, the travelling got to be a bit much, so I decided to devote more time to the internet and being at home with my wife.

Which brings me to the present. You can still occasionally find me at a Gem and Mineral Show but mostly, my wife and I work as a team, offering our cabochons on the internet to anyone who is looking for reasonably priced stones to use in their own creations.
