now, a sahm of two little ones, creating between the spaces, in the silence of the evening, and with two monkeys in tow.

I crave texture, color-vivid and naturally occurring, play, dance, conversation with my media. a meditation, evidence of time--a marker dropped in time. I seek to have an intimacy with processes of archaic technology; spinning, weaving, handwriting.

I catch little things often overlooked, poetry in my daily life, and moments spinning still and silent.

The name Helen of Memphis is in reverence to a Women's Specialty shop from the middle of last century in Memphis, TN that closed its doors forever when I was a girl in the 1980s. I vowed to one day reopen the shop. When I was in high school, the Helen of Memphis was torn down to make way for...a Rite Aid! Friends of my parents showed up one night with the huge sign that stood out front. Luckily for me, the Etsy banner is a bit less cumbersome...
