This is my second shop on Etsy. My first shop which I opened this past April can be found here:
I have degrees in Architecture from Berkeley and UCLA, but I've always had an interest in smaller scale design work like jewelry design. I've also always felt that while much of the Islamic jewelry out there is beautiful, much of it tends to be homogeneous and a bit old fashioned. I wanted to see jewelry that was innovative and out of the ordinary. Work that looks like it was inspired by the progress of past Islamic empires and civilizations, without looking as though it was transported directly from those periods without any changes. I wanted to see designs that were Islamic yet very modern -- and that is why I created Islamicable.
