My name is Jodie Matusak and I'm the heart and soul of JBM Designs. I'm from New England, born and raised in Tiverton, Rhode Island, where I still reside, where I share my life with my wonder family and my feline companion Cleopatra, "munchkin" for short. I'm a self-taught artist with a background in Business Marketing and Art. I have an unconditional love for coffee, shoes & purses, the outdoors & gardening, and living near the ocean.
Every since I was a little girl I can remember loving anything having to do with Art and Nature. I used to pull up a chair and watch my father, who was a graphic designer at the time, design and create graphic artwork for companies the old school way, by hand. (Before computers)
I think my curiosity and love for watching him create art truly was my first inspiration for being expressive and artistic. I also love the outdoors and and animals. I went to an all girls Quaker high school and had decided that when I graduated I wanted to go to college for Business and minor in Art. I attended Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI to get my BA in Business Marketing, and loved it there!

During and after college I worked at a local roadside country fruit and vegetable stand/ farm for about 7 years. It was the best job in the world and I got to eat fresh corn on the cob among many other wonderful locally grown fruits and vegetables. Working there not only gave me a great knowledge of working for a small family run farm and business but it also allowed for inspiration towards photography and love and appreciation for fresh locally grown food. I later moved on from there and got a great job working at a more corporate company, Sid Wainer and Son in South Eastern Mass which specializes in gourmet foods, artisan cheeses, and international and local produce. But I have always dreamed of owning my own business one day! It is true that your dreams can come true :) Etsy has allowed me to express myself and make a living off of doing what I love the most, creating Art! Hopefully, I can make this my full time job, the sky is the limit (I hope!)
