About

Pottery, fused glass, jewelry, sculpture, furniture, jewelry, painting, felting, weaving. Original art; whimsical, clever, and fun! Serious art, too. Thoughtfully designed, handmade and crafted with care in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

I am a teacher and artist. I started making art 30 years ago when painted wood birds, bunnies, etc. were all the rage. When our youngest daughter was in 4th grade I went back to college (my first degree in Occupational Therapy was never put to good use) to earn a degree in visual art.

I started a non-profit organization, ArtWise, to promote and establish an art program for elementary students. After nearly 20 years it is still going, and growing, strong.

I taught elementary art for our local school district for 12 years, sought and found grant funding to purchase and outfit a mobile classroom for myself.

I now own my own art studio. I teach art to home school kids and after school kids two days a week. I spend a lot of time being grandma to 4 terrific little kids. And I make my own art - I am well blessed!

My husband helps me sometimes, by making stained glass lamp shades for my gourds, or doing carpentry work to 'finish' what I have started. We've been a great team for over 37 years.

In November '07 I made a commitment to donate 1/2 of the sales of my art to a local charity, the mission for the homeless in our area. I continue that and donate 1/2 of the proceeds of my Etsy sales, too - big sales and little sales. It is a way I can use my art to help others.
