Julie Delton's Profile

About

i'm a full-time artist/illustrator who enjoys creating small colorful works of art using my favorite technique: resist with water based media. this is a technique i developed while at art school in London, where i also learned the fine arts of etching, lithography, wood engraving and bookbinding.

over the years my work has gone through several phases: there was the rough edgy phase and the small head phase, for example. what has remained the same is my fondness for color, texture and spontaneity.

my artwork is painterly (i love to see brush strokes and different layers of color) and at the same time has the look of block printing, with simple shapes and large flat areas of color.

see more of my art in the form of rubber stamps at pictureshow.etsy.com, along with lots of other cool imagery!
