About

I knew when I was 8 years old that I wanted to be a designer. I would make bookmarks out of the leftover signage scraps that my mom would bring home from the local grocery store that she worked at. I would laminate them, color them while mixing crayons and markers on top of one another. I even at one point typed a business plan on this made for kids typewriter to open up a strictly custom designed handmade bookmark store.

Fifteen years later when I walked across the stage at my college graduation with my design degree, I thought I'd be some big shot in advertising and be a known high paid designer. I got my break and I got my first job out of college; it was a highly paid job and I freaken hated it. I hated it so much. I quit on my year anniversary and never looked back.

I had no plan when I quit. No other job to go to. I didn't even know about etsy at that time to even think about starting a shop. I did know that I wanted to make cards and invites I just didn't know how to "get out there". If I never would've of quit my highly paid job and taken this random part time job just to do something I would've never had a conversation with a co-worker who told me about etsy.

It's been a long journey a lot of penny pinching, idea jotting and a hell of a lot of work, but I wouldn't change it for all of the brides that I've helped and the weddings that I've been apart of. My favorite is when bridesmaids email me saying how easy I made their party planning by making simple suggestions.

A lot of people ask how I came up with the name littleladycompany; it's easy. I tell them I design how I dress. Always ironed, always put together, always colorful and most importantly always lady like.
