Q: If you were to come across Amortentia potion from Harry Potter, which is rumored to smell different to each person according to what attracts them most, what would it smell like to you?

A: I think the smell of old books would be prominently featured. A campfire on a crisp fall day. Jasmine. Freshly baked bread.


Q: How would you spend a completely free day?

A: My perfect lazy day would be spent wandering around great big used book stores and fabric shops (with little cafe breaks in between to relax with a cup of tea and admire my newly acquired treasures!).


Q: How did Lucky Happenstance come about? One cold, rainy early spring day I was going through some boxes of books with my husband when I jokingly said "I think we could open our own used bookstore!" While a brick-and-mortar shop is not a realistic possibility for us right now, I thought an Etsy shop might be a good alternative.

I must admit I was a bit dismayed to realize that Etsy considers anything over 20 years old as vintage (that means I am pretty "vintage" myself...), but that definition opened up a whole new realm of possibilities. So, I went through some more of my treasure stash and found that I have a lot to share with others who might also have a love/use for old books and sewing stuff.


Q: Aside from collecting "vintage" books & sewing supplies, what other hobbies do you have?

A: Obviously, I love to read and sew. I also love to cook,bake, play with my children, walk/hike, and I recently completed my first 1/2 marathon!
