An architect by training and a self-taught jeweller, Tracy Gan works between the parallel worlds of architecture and fashion. Cross-referential influences between the two arts are often reflected in her jewellery work. The conceptual starting point for her designs in jewellery is often from an architectural focus, and designs aim to display a resolution between aesthetic form, the functionality of wear and attention to specific connection details.

Evident through her work, Tracy embraces multi-culturalism in her way of life, thought and work. Her background in different cultures can be traced from being born and growing up in Malaysia, completing studies in Singapore and Australia, lived and worked in Brisbane and Melbourne, and currently living in cosmopolitan Hong Kong. This multi-referential culturalism is a rich source of inspiration and plays a large part in informing her designs.

With MADAME GAN, Tracy aims to produce insightful creations through a fusion of industries, histories, cultures, and memories. To her, a well-designed piece of jewellery can be powerful for the vulnerable, thought-provoking for the sentimental, and graceful for the fashionable, all at once.
