Welcome to my shop!

My name is Maggie. I am 28 years old and work full time as a patient care assistant at a local children's hospital in Ohio. I have 2 energetic children, Evan 6 and Emma 5, a Lhasa Apso named Harvey, and a wonderful husband named Michael.

I have always loved doing crafts(must be where my Emma gets it from). My mom taught me to crochet when I was a child. Not sure how old I was but guessing around 10. After my son was born, 6 1/2 years ago, I taught myself to knit..

This year I decided to sell scarfs to earn extra money for Christmas, something I have never done before. Everyone seemed to love my scarfs. I was very surprised and overwhelmed by all the orders I got. I was knitting non-stop for about 6 weeks and barely got all my orders done.

Then I got the crazy idea to continue selling my knitted items . So with the encouragement of my family and friends, on December 1st, 2010 Maggie's Hand Knits was born. Since then, I have been keeping busy knitting items for my Etsy Shop and taking orders from local people and Facebook friends. I only offer items in my shop that I love and that are fun for me to make.

My mission is to make colorful, cute, and fun items for my customers that are functional and make life more fun.
