Michelle Wey's Profile
Making jewelry is like making sculpture in miniature. Like all visual aesthetic pursuits, it is about form, color and composition. I became interested in working with mixed metals after years of working only in silver because of the design possibilities offered by combining tones and textures of more than one metal. For a long time I worked strictly in silver and 18 karat gold or in all silver. In recent years, in part due to the high cost of metals, but also as a way to expand my repertoire of designs, I started experimenting in silver and 14 karat gold, all gold as well as silver and brass combinations. In my shop you can see a little bit of everything. My design aesthetic is about elegant form and clean line. Modernista Jewelry is not subject to passing trends but rather offers a style that is timelessly classic and modern.
I hope you enjoy my shop and I look forward to hearing from you...
