I always felt I'd fit in better in another age..another place.. living in the Azores..perhaps.middleearth..lost atlantis..at least it is in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean ..500 miles from the nearest continent. I live in the village of Rabo de Peixe (literally means Fishtail) on São Miguel island.
A fiber artist, now designing jewelry., I love to use lava stone ( the Azores are volcanic) for the great contrast it has with semi-precious and precious stones and metals.
My pieces often include vintage, upcycled, dismantled jewelry and castoffs, anything old and forgotten.. with shadows of faded memories of other noble times and strange worlds. I attempt, in this way, to pass on the emotion provoking quality and uniqueness of these ‘treasures'.
