About

Hi.
I'm a very inspired person living an extremely wonderful life down in New Orleans. I love my city and will live here until it falls into the gulf upon which time I have prepared my apocalypse mermaid costume. I have been professionally designing fashion and costume for 8 years.

My apparel work has mainly focused on "trashion" or the repurposing of fabrics from one garment into a new one. I truly believe in creating an eco-friendly brand and recycled fabrics provide a massive difference on the planet. One tshirt takes 400 gallons of water to grow the cotton. My costume work has been all over Carnival. I've been lucky enough to dress several of the Carnival Kings and Queens as well as my all female dance…

About

A pair of jeans took 1800 gallons. Things need to change and I'm working my little butt off down here trying.

My costume work has been all over Carnival. I've been lucky enough to dress several of the Carnival Kings and Queens as well as my all female dance troupe, The Bearded Oysters. Yes, we do wear beards (and merkins). I have also done burlesque, Burning Man, Comic Con, Convention, Halloween, Sporting Events, Drag, Dance, Theatre, Fetish and Film costumes.

My favorite activity is to parade. I love to costume and participate in countless parades throughout the year riding my papier mache unicorn tricycle. I have served as a Mardi Gras Queen in 2006 and look forward to assisting in the continuation of this amazing tradition here in New Orleans.

My designs are fashioned for comfort, durability, eco-friendliness, and attention. My favorite fabrics have history and feel good to put on your body. I like to design happy, clever, creative wear for the fun days in people's lives.

I've worn and own versions of all the designs in my shop and have chosen these because they are my favorites. I believe you will agree.

Peace and Love,
Katrina Brees
