I remember so well the first roll of black and white film that I shot, processed and printed. A single flower that was a gift from my boyfriend in college (now my husband) filled the frame beneath the water; At that moment I realized I had even more control over the image after capturing it, truly making it my own, creating an image.
I have always loved working with my hands and analyzing things. As a child two of my favorite things were my square loom to weave pot holders and playing canasta with my Grammy. The loom offered my hands an outlet for my extra nervous energy and the card games which sometimes lasted hours offered so many choices and possibilities. And so it's not a surprise that looking at everyday things through my camera lens and seeing what else the subject has to offer really excites me.
