I retired from the State of GA in 2009 after a rewarding 34 yr. career as a Veteran's Benefits Counselor in small town Georgia. I have always been a "sewer". My earliest memories are of sitting on the table extension of my Grandmother's old Singer pedal sewing machine watching her create anything and everything from dresses, to curtains to doll clothes. My mother also sewed, making clothes for the family, so it was inevitable that I would take up the craft. I've made pillow covers, hand quilted baby quilts, and even did the craft show circuit selling country jumpers adorned with my own line of handmade porcelain buttons.
So, a lot of years and stitches later, our daughter left for college in Fall 2010 and I was desperately lost and alone. Attempts to find a part time or even full time job proved futile, so once again I dusted off the sewing machine, picked up the scissors, and Empty Nest...
