About

Hi

I'm Natalia, born and bred in Romania from a family of Ukrainians, who, for sometime now, is up and about Europe. For now I live in the Czech Republic. Take it however you like it!

If I were to name what I do best that would be: “How to make things you never did before ”, or how to make the best out of everything. To put it as the Romanians say it “how to make a whip from shit and make it snap” meaning how to find creative solutions in difficult situations.

These are “illnesses” that I've had since I was a little girl, partly hereditary (my mother's family has always been in the sewing trade for generations), partly from an inner inquietude that urged me to reinvent the pattern of my teddy bear's pants because I just didn't think he looked good enough in a skirt, and during secondary school I...

About

These are “illnesses” that I've had since I was a little girl, partly hereditary (my mother's family has always been in the sewing trade for generations), partly from an inner inquietude that urged me to reinvent the pattern of my teddy bear's pants because I just didn't think he looked good enough in a skirt, and during secondary school I turned old pairs of jeans into brand new handbags to add to my allowance money.

Over the years, the jobs I've had the luck to get, have only made matters “worse”. I was a teacher, which meant finding creative solutions to more issues than an ordinary person could imagine, then I was a costume designer on a set, which meant finding creative solutions to lots of problems NOW! YESTERDAY, IF POSSIBLE! Then jack-of-all-trades at a private puppet theatre which meant learning a few trades and solving (creatively, obviously!) every problem which rose from working there.

Among, and often at the same time, with my day job I also tailored in my living room. It started with: "Would you mind doing a skirt for me, like this and like that?" And ended with “Since you made my wedding dress, come down to Oslo for my make-up, hair and bouquet!”

Here I am today on Etsy trying to tailor a business! I am not certain of what I will sell (hard decision to make, after all, with all the things I can make) but I will decide very soon. And there's another trade for me to learn: how to sell! Wish me luck!

I am very glad I discovered this site and I hope my work on etsy will be as inspirational to many, as Etsy has been for me since I first ran into this site by accident.

Oh! One more thing, I'm also an Argentine tango dancer, which I teach as well...I feel so good when I can teach others something... anything... :)
