About

Welcome to Park Street Studios, my outlet for sharing my handmade objects. My name is Jessica Shannon-Smith. I have spent over 30 years creating “stuff.” My endeavors have included, but aren’t limited to, sewing, X-stitch, embroidery, needlepoint, latch hooking, rug hooking, quilting, painting, drawing, ceramics, print-making, wood carving, beading, scrap booking, drop spindle spinning, knitting, loom weaving, photography, and more recently basket making and other woven fibre arts. Although I have a BA in photography and a minor in art history, I am predominately self-taught when it comes to crafts.

My primary goal with opening up Park Street Studios is to get the objects I create into the hands of folks who will love them. It’s wonderful to create art, but it’s better to share it.

My secondary goal is to break even on my artistic pursuits. I’m not out to get rich,...

My secondary goal is to break even on my artistic pursuits. I’m not out to get rich, only to fund my obsession. LOL

My third goal is to make room in my home. As much as I adore the items I make, it’s just not possible to keep them all. Many of the objects I’m selling have been proudly displayed in my home before being listed. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.

All the best,
Jessica

PS: I was recently asked why I pluralized “studios.” The second studio is my husband’s recording studio. You can check out his band, The Jethros, here:
