Lou Mills-Watts' Profile
Hi my name is Lou, I live in Cornwall and I have been felting for just over six years. The process itself is both addictive and fascinating. Wool is shaped and rubbed whilst wetting and soaping until the required result is obtained. It takes quite a long time so patience is needed.
The finished article varies dramatically from the synthetic felt which, I have to admit, I am not keen on.
I am now selling felt jewellery, brooches, hats, wall hangings, the ever popular wraps and clothing of my own design..
I make long armed fingerless gloves, headbands, neck warmers (all handknitted) in spectacular colours, I use nuno felting, wet felting and needle felting (ouch), which is a dry felting process using special needles to jab at the fibres so locking them together. Watch out for other crafts in my shop, I like to dabble....
It has taken some time for me to actually put stuff…
