Rockstars & Superheroes is a custom children's art shop by Piper Anderson (me!). I specialize in custom, whimsical, mixed media paintings of children being what they wish to be when they get 'all growed up.'
This idea was inspired by a book I received as a young girl. The dad of one of my little friends worked for a company that produced storybooks that starred whichever child you were giving it to. Mine was called Candy Land, and it was my own personal exploration of a land of wonderment. Inside the pages of this book, I met silly elves and got to eat the biggest lollypops imaginable! But best of all, it was ME in that book, which was incredibly magical! That magic never left me.
Rockstars & Superheroes is also inspired by every child's dream of what they wish to be when they grow up. From Superheroes to Teacher's to Artist's to Trucker's to NHL superstars, each child has their own dream. How magical for them to have a picture of themselves living that dream!

The process will go like this:
I will give you a short questionnaire for your child to fill out. This will give me a glimpse into his or her personality and dreams so that I can make the portrait as personal to him or her as possible. If your child isn't speaking or writing yet, and you're simply looking for a portrait of them doing what they do best (ie: giggling, walking, being a complete ham), I will ask you to tell me a little about their developing personality.
Next we will discuss colour choices, and choose a picture of your child's face for the portrait. I use photocopies of these pictures to paste into the picture, so your child is REALLY there. The rest of the image (body and background) is hand designed by me.
Portraits are either 6 x 6 inches, or 6 x 8 inches on gallery wrapped canvas, the sides painted black thus ready to hang. Expect up to 1 month's time for delivery of your custom portrait after we have completed our discussion of what you'd like.
If you would prefer a size other than what I have specified, please convo me and I will do my best to accommodate your request with a custom/reserved listing.
I have been freelancing as an artist/illustrator since 2005. Most of my original works are in private collections, and I sell archival giclee reproduction prints on paper and canvas in my other Etsy Shop, Piper In A Pear Tree.
