I am a longtime quilter, for over 30 years (since the age of 4 when I made my first doll’s quilt!), having pieced and quilted around 50-60 quilts to give away and sell. Proud member of my local quilting guild, the Foothills Piecemakers, I work here in the beautiful Upstate region of South Carolina, which historically has a long tradition in textiles.
Taught by my own very talented mother how to sew, with both of my grandmothers who sewed, I am the first quilter in the family and have recently been teaching my mom how to quilt.
My style is that of modern-vintage; I have always loved vintage and antique items, and proudly use pieces from my grandmothers’ and mother’s fabric stash in my work. But yet, I do so with a modern take on tradition, for example the Hot Pink Scrappy Twin Sized quilt… it is based entirely on an antique dated from the 1920’s-1940’s but is made entirely modern with bright...

Vintage and reproduction print cottons are my favorite fabrics and I use luscious new cotton fabric from my local quilt shops but also have a stash of vintage fabrics and barely worn clothing I have purchased from thrift stores to keep out of the landfill and enjoy reusing those both for the design and originality along with some precious fabrics from my mother and even my grandmothers
