I find inspiration from items shuffled away in places that their original owners probably did not expect them to end up - cast aside or forgotten - but are a treasure when found again, with a new story waiting to emerge.  Using these things as a storyboard for a new memory is to both reject and embrace the bitterness of time passing, of the expiration of the individual.  It is also reinforces that we do not exist in isolation. I use my art to flesh out this connection, to claim bits of personal history as mine.
