I have always been infatuated with color, texture and detail. Nature is filled with these things and for me is a constant source of inspiration. It may be the color of something that pops out at me or the way the light causes it to glow or even the shape of something that pulls me toward it. Nature is constantly changing and therefore is always offering something new to notice. I like that photography enables me to stop and really see these subtle details and changes. I also find inspiration in vintage items. Again, it goes back to color and texture for me. The look of weathered wood, the patina of a metal platter or a vintage paint color that you don’t see used anymore, these things intrigue me and make me want to capture their beauty. They also play well with nature. Flowers always look better in an old milk bottle or hobnail vase! You will find my images to be warm in color and tone and rich in texture.
