Hello! My name is Tanja Lichtensteiger, but you can call me Tanja (pronounced like Tania) or Sinta.
I'm Swiss-Filipina and I was raised in South East Asia and Switzerland. Then I met a lovely man and decided to settle in jolly old England. I love it here.
I like listening to Opera and am fond of Musicals. I love museums. I want my own library or at least a room with nothing in it but a comfy chair and walls full of books. I like wearing glasses. I enjoy a half a cup of tea with milk and sugar.
Oh yes, I'm also getting married on October 3, 2009 to the said amazing man who I have been with for eight years. I still can't believe he wants to marry me! ^_^

I have been painting since I was three. What first started out as messy watercolour dandelions on plain white printer paper, turned to more sophisticated watercolour illustrations and large oil paintings. I have studied art all my life, from classes in lower school, to studies in the Philippines, Indonesia, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
My tools of choice while illustrating are pencils, inks and watercolours. I create all my illustrations by hand, because I enjoy every stroke of the brush and feel of the paper beneath my fingers.
My works on canvas (large/small) are created with the use of heavy oils, acrylic and pastels. You can see such of my work here:
