I make unique ceramic jewelry. My motives are often maritime, inspired by sun and sea. My colors are transparent, water colors, emphasizing the relief.
I use high quality white clay and model every piece with my hands; I color it and glaze, and bake it twice in ceramic oven. After this process, there are no two identical pieces but I have something like series, or collections with same theme.
So, those were the facts, now what is behind...

I was lucky to be born and raised in Split at Croatian Adriatic coast, a typical Europe-Mediterranean summer destination. City developed from a palace that roman Cesar Diocletian built 1700 years ago to retire from public life in Rome and spend his old days on a little peninsula. Imagine yourself in summer dress, with straw hat and sandals on your feats, standing on hot stone of a roman palace, tasting the salty sea in the air... this is where I come from, this lightness and freedom is in my nature and in the style of my jewelry which I would describe as Mediterranean and a bit hippie.

How did I get here…
I learned to work with clay from experienced academic artist and I knew right away that ceramic is my medium. But all my vases, and other typical things you do when you learn pottery techniques, were small and very thin, with fine details that normally need a ton of patience and nerves. So, I switched to making jewelry and I found myself!! To my great satisfaction I became a part of a group of ceramicists and we opened a ceramic gallery to sell our handmade work. You can imagine that such gallery, at touristic destination, did work very well. We arranged the interior, packaging of products and did work as sales personal. I was so happy when I could pack and hand over my jewelry to person from wherever in the world, who just found my earrings very nice and decided to buy them. Few years ago I moved to Germany to join my boyfriend, but I still make ceramic jewelry inspired by my home.

I hope you you like it :-)
