Standard Vintage New York specializes in Japanese vintage clothing dating from the 50's to the 90's. Until WWII, kimono was still widely worn by the Japanese as their daily attire. The concept of casual wear was only introduced into Japan by westerners after the war. However, the western design were modified by the Japanese based on their own attributes and culture. Japanese vintages are well known for their elegant styles which are generally more conservative than those from the West.
