About

Hi there, my name is Jodi. I am the creator/designer of Stitch Sprite! I started sewing as a young girl, with simple projects like pot holders and buttons. My creativity blossomed into making clothes and handbags. While in college I became fond of quilting, completing my first co-quilt junior yr. I call it a co-quilt because it was a joint project with a great friend of mine. We look back now at our "plan of attack" for the quilt and often laugh at ourselves. In the end an awesome quilt was made and an even more awesome friendship was started. After college I did the career thing, got married, and had my two wonderful children. I let my sewing turn to a more as needed activity. I made curtains for every room in our house and quilts for the kids beds but it just wasn't enough. I needed to get back to what I really enjoyed and that was making decorations and handbags. With only my home to work from, selling my creations was a challenge, until I discovered the world of Etsy. The Wheels in my head started turning and after speaking to a few Etsians, I decided to give it a try. So here I am today! I don't have a fancy studio to work in, I don't even have a designated sewing room, YET :-D. My husband refurbished an old cabinet for me and it hangs in our dining room. And in my house it is refurred to as mom's sewing cabinet. I am lucky however to live in an old stone farmhouse with deep windowsills. As my business has grown, I have slowly been taking over those windowsills of the dining room.I also have a great dining room table that folds out to be 12 feet long. I can honestly say that I love what I am doing and look forward to the new items I make and the new fabrics I use to make them everyday! Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little better and I hope you enjoy my shop. Take Care,
Jodi
