About

Like so many sewists I know, I have been sewing since the age of 6. I started sitting at my mother's feet and fashioning her scraps into doll clothes. By age 16, I was spending my Summers sewing my wardrobe for the coming school year. I was known as a creative dresser. I wrote my first sewing pattern in 2005 as part of applying for a patent.

I am thrilled to announce that I have licensed my patterns to Simplicity. Simplicity-fied versions of several of my patterns are in stores now. The most complete versions of my work along with extensive notes and personal help is what I offer here.

I am just like you except I probably sew more.
I love giving and receiving handmade gifts. While I sew, I think about my project as a gift for my customer. Maybe that is why I love my made-to-order items, like the duffel bags, bridesmaid clutches, and changing pad bags...I get to go back in time to my own experiences traveling, getting married and having babies. Such precious times. I wish the same joy in the journey to the women who receive my products.

When I am writing a pattern, I am thinking about the kindred spirits who will use the pattern to make gifts of their own or start a cottage business.

Here is a sampling of what some of my customers have said:

"WOW! I couldn't be more thrilled with my custom duffle! It will be perfect to bring to the hospital when I have my baby. Thank you, thank you!!"

"The bridesmaid clutches are perfect! The craftsmanship is wonderful and Cherie is so great to work with. Always quick to reply, always prompt with mailing either the fabric swatches and quick to send the finished product. I recommend her very highly. Thanks Cherie!"

"Very clear instructions and great photos to go along with instructions. Great communication with seller. Thanks!"

I encourage you to check my shop periodically. I have quite a long list of products in different stages of launch. If there is something you would love to see me make, I welcome your input.

I do not have a newsletter or mailing list, but if you need a way to keep in touch, you can subscribe to my blog posts via email. That way, everytime I post something on my blog, you will get an email and you can choose to read it or discard it. Here is the link for subscribing:
