About

Having lived in New York all my life and being exposed to the richness of practically every art form that this city has to offer, it is easy to see why art has always had a strong dominance in my life.

Even more influential is the fact that my father, now retired, was a luthier. Throughout the years I began experimenting with some of dad’s tools without his knowledge. It formed a greater desire to create from scratch or improve on something that I considered needing a “make over”!

Unfortunately time passed and I never officially studied any form of art until I was an adult. Encouraged by my older brother, I decided to attend college working towards an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Visual Arts.

Believing that I wanted a career in graphic design, I took many computer related courses but was drawn towards other arts such as drawing, painting and jewelry making.

Simultaneously, I began making Cancer Awareness bracelets to celebrate the 5-year remission of ovarian cancer of a close friend. During that same time I began creating fabric covered baby/wedding albums and etched wine glasses as gifts. This spurred referrals and requests from friends and family members for personalized items, then eventually selling items through eBay. (For rating purposes only, please visit my feedback section as seller tenderlymade).

In the summer of 2006, I became a member of a local artist group, Artistico, based out of Mamaroneck, NY. Many of my pieces have been featured and sold through Designer One in Larchmont. Through Artistico, I participate in many local events such as the Mamaroneck Harbor Fest, Harbor Island Park, Larchmont Art, Yonkers Riverfest and Untermyer Gardens.

While currently I am working with small scale items due to space limitiations, I hope to expand my handmade creations using many of my favorite materials once my studio space is complete.
