Aloha from the beautiful Island of Kauai. I was born in Manhattan NY many moons ago. Went to Philadelphia College of Art. and several other schools since. Use to paint murals on anything that didn't move. I take that back, I once painted a 280Z with roses. It was parked at the time. It won second prize in the Santa Rosa Rose parade one year in the art car division. You can see a few of the murals I've done at redbubble:

In the early 90's I lost some important people in my life to cancer. I became a Hospice volunteer after that and then on occasion a care giver. This is how I met Mannette. She had been one of the original Disney artists. She could no longer drive or walk and missed going to ceramic class, so I would drive her three days a week to school and we would spend all day in the ceramics lab. I became addicted to clay and the 3D process.

I like to incorporate my sense of humor (inherited from my family) in sculptures and wheel thrown functional pieces. "Laughter is the best medicine." Some of my creative impulses are often inspired by, of all things, the news. I use to think, how depressing is this? Somehow, I can sometimes squeeze out the humor in it, and that makes the world a little less depressing.
The human face has always been an inspiration to me, facial expressions fascinate me, they often tell a story. My favorites are masks and sculptures that cause a grin or a chuckle or create a question or a feeling.
