About

I've been collecting since I was 3 years old when I found my great Aunt's bead collection. That was in 1951. I was blessed to have a store in the East Village of New York City from 1970 to 1986 and continued collecting, hoarding and selling, even trading to my heart's content. I am an ADDICT about collecting , a Shopaholic and a Discardophobic!
I grew up on 47th street,NYC, the diamond street, as a diamond "runner" at 7 years old. My dad was a jeweler and diamond setter. Glitz and jewels and decoration are a natural for me. My parrot taught me that "We are not born with feathers, so we need to decorate ourselves!" (My quote)

My First store was on St. Marks Place, NYC and at the time I started with Vintage Clothing, then imports from Afghanistan and Iran, Morocco and India. I also had a sewing shop and created tribal style leathers, plus I created many costumes for Sacred , Burning Man and Bhutoh Dancers. After my lease was over when the GAP purchased the building, I went into wholesale manufacturing of Leathers and Jewelry, finally narrowing down my work to necklaces, often designing for others, for runways and well known lines, even museums. I never cared about my name, I only wanted to get my overhead paid and save for more travel. Now, I'm relinquishing some of the collections and stashes, here on Etsy only!

From Buttons and beads it went to beaded bags, old magazines, pocketknives, old tools, jewelry, tribal artifacts, masks, rusty iron keys, old kitchen goods, old tins, old books, vintage postcards and photographs, crochet, embroidered, silk fabrics, charms from old gumball machines, Warp Dyed IKAT and woven fabrics , Antique Clothing and on and on....

Eventually I'll post a variety of everything!
