Jess Wetherhold was born and raised on the Eastern Shores of Delaware and Maryland. Her love for woodworking began as a child, while watching her father, Kent, a woodworking hobbyist. The two started J & K Customs in 2002 where they specialized in building and refinishing furniture.

During this time, Jess discovered a love and talent for woodturning. With the help of her friend Bob Barnes, she developed her turning skills. After relocating to California in 2006, she started A-Skewed Creations and now focuses on woodworking full time. Jess enjoys creating functional pieces of art and finds her inspiration in the form and patterns of raw woods.

Jess lives in San Diego with her partner, their Terrier Stella and two cats. She is a member of the American Association of Woodturners and is a frequent contributor to woodworking on-line forums.
