Rachel Miller's Profile

About

My name is Rachel, and I love beautiful things. All the pottery in my shop is handmade by me in my home studio, then glazed (again, by me) and fired at a wonderful community studio. My work is high-fired in a reduction atmosphere in a large gas kiln.

The word “windfall” denotes the blessings of life, tangible and intangible: the treasures nature drops at my feet, the chance to learn from great craftspeople, the abundant gifts of doing and being.

I live with my husband and baby in a neat old city apartment with big windows, where we grow as many things as we can, roast our own coffee, bake our own bread, and talk to our baby son using big words. We try to value the beautiful and handmade and stay close to friends and family. It's a good life. You can find me blogging about it at rachelmillerpottery.wordpress.com.
