Inspired by her love of theater and costumes, Pat creates dramatic jewelry, accessories and clothing. Her works may begin with an antique button from her grandmother, an object that speaks to her such as a beautiful Boulder Opal. or the juxtaposition of unexpected elements like hammered copper and hand-dyed silk.

The metalwork may be embellished with a variety of stones, buttons or beads, or left unadorned to accentuate the distinctive metal work. These pieces are anchored with hand-dyed silk, linen or leather cords.

Pat also enjoys working with textiles, creating hand-painted silk scarves, shawls, clothing and accessories in addition to the silk ribbons and cords incorporated in her jewelry. The unusual blending of colors on the fabrics creates depth and imagery making the articles unique and fun to wear.

Pat also enjoys working with Wire Lace, a metallic lace made with very fine brass, copper or aluminum wire enameled to create an array of colors. The Wire Lace can be ruffled, jagged or smoothed to create numerous looks. Combined with fresh water pearls, hammered metal and silk, the Wire Lace is a contrast in elements and textures, creating unusual dramatic images.

Her jewelry also includes Boulder Opals. Opals are the only gemstone that naturally splits light creating flashes of unexpected color. Boulder Opals are ironstone with ribbons of opal deposits, resulting in unique images in the stone and sharply contrasting flashes of color. Combined with hammered metal, the Boulder Opals create distinctive natural patterns that draw the eye to the wearer.
