Hi - My name is Jody and welcome to Abellawear. I am located in Central Washington State in the beautiful Yakima Valley.

My love for sewing began at age 12 when I found an old sewing machine in an unused closet. My mom did not sew, so I found books, magazines, and anything I could get my hands on that could help me learn how to use this wonderful machine. I can still remember the very first jumper that I made all by myself for me! It was neon orange with huge lime green flowers on it. I was hooked, and sewing has been my passion ever since! I truly cannot imagine a life for me that does not include sewing.

I have three daughters which is a sewers dream come true! Through the years I have made hundreds of outfits for them including many, many formal gowns for proms and homecomings.

There were so many things that I wanted to make for my Etsy Store, but I had to narrow it down. My specialty right now is knitting rolls, aprons, and wristlets. I can't tell you how much I am enjoying finding just the right combination of fabrics for these one-of-a-kind items.

When I am able to tear myself away from my sewing room, I enjoy knitting. I especially like to make little hats for babies. With a new little grandchild on the way, I am knitting up a storm. I am trying to make a few things for my Etsy Store too, so check out the eyelet hats and little tams. I hope to have our new grandchild be a model come this summer.
