When I was about 8 years old, my grandmother Ida taught me how to crochet. We sat side by side on her 'davenport' while she helped me figure out how to navigate the balance of yarn and hook. A few years later, she taught me to sew on the sewing machine in her dining room. Visits to her house were often spent thumbing through the collection of Workbook magazines from boxes on her enclosed front porch and deciding on our next project together.
Now, nearly 30 years later, I am a full-time graduate student, a part-time biostatistician, and a mom to an active toddler. Each day holds the smallest bit of time for a few rows of knitting or a half hour at the sewing machine. For this reason, you won't find a vast number of items in my little Etsy shop.
