Hello, my name is Lizbeth Clay & welcome to Rustic Gypsy Creations. I have gathered unique beads and vintage items since I was a young girl, yet really didn't begin to create with these until later in life. For the first 30-35 years, I was so focused on making a living and paying the bills that I never took my creative impulse seriously. But that all changed one afternoon when I took out my long-held cherished stash and created my first necklace. It sold the next day, and my friends were asking for more! Now at age 50, creating is the foundation of my life.

Vintage and antique objects have always held my interest. They emanate a quality and spirit that I rarely find in today's world. I love crafting unique jewelry that brings these old treasures from the past into the present. They remind me of the great imagination and soul that was so alive in our society before it became 'commercial' and excessive. My parents took me on my first trip to an antique store when I was 12 years old. I still have those two purchases I made that day. As a matter of fact, my store banner is created from one of them.

I live with my sweet husband, Kim, in the Blue Ridge mountains. We live in connection with the Earth and enjoy growing some of our own vegetables. We also enjoy creating old style herbal beer where we use the local plants growing on our land. We desire to live an ecologically sane life and give something of value back. Repurposing vintage and antique items is one way I recycle and celebrate the soul of conscious consumerism. I love to craft, I love to sell, I love to purchase...I love to connect!

Besides being a jewelry maker, I am also a writer and transformational artist. I paint and create mixed-media altars, as well as creating sacred space. I am also fond of the improvisational arts, those arts that help us grow in spontaneity and 'on the spot' creativity in all areas of our lives. I am active in women's circles and very involved in women's health.
