BEGINNINGS
Hi there! Thanks for visiting! Antickquities was inspired by my friends and husband and our sudden love for Steampunk (it was VERY sudden, I tell you.) Of course we quickly came to realize that most Steampunk accessories and fashion can be quite expensive, so we ventured out into the city and went about looking for more affordable means to be fashionably gaslamp. I found that my dayjob (which is at a local craft mall) provided the greatest materials I could ever hope to find: brass clock hands. Beautiful brass clock hands that got absolutely no love just sitting behind the counter day in day out, lamenting their sad clockless existences. So I decided to buy them and show them that they did not need clocks to be loved. I have since turned them into charming accessories for ladies and gents, with the help of my friends and husband.
WHAT IS/ARE ANTICKQUITIES?
Antickquities are timeless embellishments for the modern era. Meaning we bring elegance to modern fashion by incorporating nostalgic implements, such as brass clock hands and hardware. It is a play on words to illustrate the use of clock parts and the true feeling of timelessness we hope to inspire with our pieces. We want to bring beautiful creative pieces to people without breaking the bank, which I wholly understand as a cosplayer. My pieces tend to be customizable as well. I don't really like the "one style suits all tastes" mentality. So, most of my pieces are customizable at your discretion to suit your tastes. Don't like the position of that one clock hand? Change it by loosening the screw! I encourage it!
WHO I AM
My name is Dayle! My projects are another creative outlet for me, and are currently helping to fund my cosplay and anime convention aspirations. I also love to crochet and play with cats! I enjoy making these individual pieces to share with lovers of Steampunk, and with those who choose to walk the more whimsical side of personal fashion.
Feel free to contact me via Conversation or by email: antickquities [!at] hotmail.com. I would love to hear from you!
