Barbara Koltai's Profile
“We all wear masks, and the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing some of our own skin.”
― Andre Berthiaume
Maybe I should call palm trees in southern California the new “Giving Tree”. Its recycling in its most scenic and exquisite, natural state. These palm leaf sheaths leave me the canvas upon which my masks take shape. Each sheath reveals in its crevices, folds, and shadows the unique and magnificent faces which in turn the breathe life into art. I am truly grateful for the amazing manufacture and design Mother Nature has gifted me, as these fantastic fabrications are the heart and soul of my creations.
