About

There comes a time when a belief ceases to be an idea you agree with and it becomes something you live by. For us, this time was the Spring of 2010. In the space of a few months we bought 6 acres of land in the foothills of NC and started Whispering Willow (formerly Belle Terre), our little soap company.

We are working to transition from our traditional home in a small town neighborhood to a truly sustainable lifestyle in which we eat only what we grow, use only the energy we collect, and share our home with the dogs, bees and other animals that will join us.

Part of this transition is Whispering Willow. We want to prove that a small business can operate profitably while having no negative impact on the environment. Our commitment to our customers, our community, and the world at large is that we will provide great, all natural products while improving the environment and the community around us.

To this end all of our items are handmade by us. We use only 100% natural ingredients and select organic and/or sustainably harvested ingredients when possible. We use minimal packaging and use post-consumer recycled materials when we do use packaging.

Finally, we donate 5% of our sales to a local charity and buy carbon credits to offset our use of fossil fuels while doing business.

Thank you for your interest in Whispering Willow. If you have any further recommendations on how we can be a better steward of our resources, please let us know.
