About

Hi there, welcome to Bit-Bots! Tiny, metal robots designed by my 5-year-old son, Asher.

You're probably wondering how on earth a 5-year-old makes robots. Well, he doesn't. He draws the pictures and I translate them into tiny little metal robots (he calls them 'bots). I'm his Mom, Stephanie. I guarantee that each one comes from his imagination, but made real by my hands.

He has always been an inventor and builder of contraptions-- he loves Rube Goldberg machines! If you'd like, I can send you a link to one of the first marble runs we ever made together.

How did we start? I'm a metalsmith and my son has spent all of his 5 years watching me make things out of metal. When he was about 3, he started 'helping' me at my workbench-- carving waxes and bending copper wire into all sorts of things. A few months ago he asked me to make him a 'bot out of metal. I told him I would if he sketched it for me... and the Original bit-bot was born.

We currently have only a few available, but believe me he has a list of about 10 more that I have to make! I really love what I do, and it's my pleasure to help him make his tiny bit-bots. I try to keep my carvings as true to his sketches as I can, and we do a lot of talking about what he wants it to look like. As you can imagine it's really difficult for 5-year-old fingers to sketch out the complexities of a rock-eating-drill-nosed-bot.

Thanks for stopping by. Oh, and all of the profits from Asher's bit-bots go right into his college fund. I promise!

Please let me know if you have any questions, we're both friendly and enjoy our work very much.
