My name is Nicole Docimo, and I am an artist and illustrator living in Boulder, Colorado, USA {I just moved to Boulder from Northern California and am so excited to be here!}.

I love making art–it feels like riding my blue bicicletta down hills -fast- wind blowing my hair back. Hence the name of this shop and my blog. {Also, I am part Italian, and in case you didn’t know, “bicicletta” (beach-ee-clet-ta) is the Italian word for bicycle.} Specifically, I love putting black lines on white paper, and many of my drawings start from that simple place.

As you may have noticed, I also love words---I grew up reading and writing poetry and studied creative writing and poetry in college---and so it's no surprise that words and poetry have crept into my work. I find that words are the most direct way to talk about life, and so I started writing these little bits of words and poetry hoping to cut through to some truth for myself and anyone else who finds my work. I love making words into visual art because I love letters and words themselves, and I love that visual art can make an instant quick connection with all of us visual creatures.

I also love just messing around and making art that feels like play. This is at the core of all of my art, and in the end I think life is about play, and so I play as much as I can.

I hope my little shop makes your heart and mind expand and relax into infinity. I hope one of my drawings gives you a moment to pause and think about what your life is really about. I hope you find a bit of silliness and play and momentum here!
