About

Selling handmade since 2003 (whatever took my interest from earrings to pet hammocks to homemade pet treats).

The little blue rat in my profile picture is Lily, she is a reminder of what I had to give up because of my health.

See, a few years ago, I ran Loving Arms Rattery (as well as a small online store which sold live fish/fish supplies, and my ratteries website even sold custom hammocks and homemade rat food, I was a very busy person!). Back then I had a real passion for what I was doing and things were going good I was ready to go to school to become a Vet. Then my health took over and I could hardly take care of myself, or my pets, so I closed, and one by one my friends passed away before my very eyes from old age, and I no longer bred any of them.

In the end, it was just me and Lily, a small blue hooded rat. This shop is in her memory. And I hope to honor her memory by once again doing something I'm passionate about, creating things, and helping other people live more sustainable and healthy lives. I try to create products I myself would like to buy and use a variety of materials.

I live with my family in Washington and enjoy the outdoors as much as my allergies will tolerate. I also love cooking, but due to food allergies (nuts, corn, rice, etc) most of the nicer things I can eat are really expensive. If my allergies weren't so bad I imagine I'd do a lot more cooking and it would become enjoyable like it used to be before my food allergies got worse. My corn allergy is the worst of them, corn is put into or cross contaminated into most products in a grocery store, and over time I've became too sensitive to handle the trace amounts. I used to make homemade baked goods/pizza all the time, now I can't tolerate the cross-contamination so I can't anymore. In the meantime I'll stick with small victories, and hope there are others to come, so eventually maybe I'll enjoy cooking again and be able to get back to writing/revising that cookbook.

Please keep in mind due to my health issues (namely a full spinal fusion paired with all the physical problems that go with it like issues sitting, standing and walking), this shop is only open as my health allows, and will likely never be open large scale. I only sew when my health allows I am therefore not accepting wholesale orders, etc. I am often harder on myself than customers are on me regarding getting orders completed and shipped quickly, so if I am even sort of able to work on your order, it will be getting worked on right away, I only stop working if I'm absolutely miserable, and I always keep customers in the loop, so they aren't wondering what is going on. My shop is not my "job" I'm not healthy enough to have one, but I do take what I do seriously and am as professional as someone with a terribly evil sense of humor can be.... :P

I'm not a big shop, but I am always willing to help my customers where I can and I try to offer a range of items, and I do enjoy what I do. I often go above and beyond the basic and out of my way to help customers, even staying awake longer to complete an order on time if they need it quickly (which is why if I say my health has affected the speed of your order, it is true because I take what I do seriously!).

If you ever need assistance, or have a question, just message me, I'd be more than happy to help you! I welcome all custom requests.
