Sort of like the old TV show, "Green Acres," Cindy and Art DeVore left city-living in Washington, D.C. and moved to the Virginia countryside. What started as a soap-making hobby in the kitchen of their farmhouse grew into a burgeoning natural products business. Valley Green Naturals products now reach customers and retail stores around the world. Everything made by Valley Green is blended, bottled, labeled and shipped entirely on site at the colonial-era farm in Virginia's beautiful Piedmont.

At Valley Green Naturals, they describe their goal as simple: to produce products that are effective, affordable, body-safe and eco-friendly. Company founder Cindy DeVore believes that with the bombardment of chemicals we encounter in our daily lives, as well as how they affect the Earth, educating consumers about the importance of product ingredients and safety is of utmost importance. Valley Green Naturals boasts over 30 skin and hair care products that are free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates and petrochemicals.

The company sources its ingredients locally from the Virginia Piedmont whenever possible, but they also support organic farming and Fair Trade on a global basis. Valley Green Naturals' formulations contain such ingredients as certified organic oils, organic bee propolis and honey, Fair Trade sugar from Malawi, Africa, and a variety of certified organic botanical extracts.

Everyone at Valley Green firmly believes that smaller-scale production ensures excellent product quality and freshness. They blend every bottled product in small batches, and they hand mix and pour soaps not more than a few pounds at a time. This ensures complete control and accuracy of the ingredients, heating processes, and packaging. Valley Green Naturals deals with only a few wholesale suppliers for their oils, fragrances, packaging and other supplies to ensure consistency of quality and products with only the finest and safest ingredients.

The Valley Green farm serves as a wonderful respite from busy life in the city. There are five acres on which to grow botanicals, herbs and vegetables, and raise chickens. Valley Green is surrounded by neighboring horse farms and a lovely vineyard. The team says that their beautiful surroundings help to inspire their personal care products and body nourishing creations.

All of the products made at Valley Green Naturals are natural and free of sulfates (SLS/SLES), phthalates, parabens, wetting agents, foaming boosters and other hazardous chemicals. Every ingredient in each product has been carefully researched for its body safety and environmental impact.

The staff at Valley Green Naturals believes in accuracy and truth in labeling. Our organic products contain pure and safe ingredients and are never accompanied by hazardous chemical ingredients.
