I have been an artist, crafter and repurposing upcycler my whole life. I began experimenting with rubberstamping in 2003 after a friend introduced me to scrapbooking. Since I didn't have kids to photograph for subjects of endless scrapbooks, I began to make interesting and different pieces using everyday objects and what some would consider trash.
The name Clara Miaka is inspired by my grandmother, Clara, who taught me to question everything in search of the truth, and to be true to myself. Her favorite color is red, and I realized it was my favorite color around the age of 30 when I noticed everything in my house seemed to be red, or some variation.
According to BabyNamesWorld.com, the Japanese name Miaka may be written with the characters for "beauty; beautiful" or "reality; truth" (mi) and "red" (aka).
