Comfort Crafts is home grown by me...Laurie.
My awareness of the beautiful power of scent and color started when I was just a little girl.

When I was very young my family lived in upstate New York and there was nothing I loved more than the beautiful colors and scent of Lilacs and Sweet Peas. I remember stopping and smelling the bunches of Lilacs dangling down over my head as I walked down the sidewalk to my house, and sitting among the Sweet Peas my mom had planted in the backyard. (A perfect place for magical dreams of fairies).

You can probably think of a scent right now that fills you with a memory from your life, memories full of joy and laughter, and love...

So I imagine that is where my love for making beautiful scented soaps, candles and perfume oils came from.

After my first daughter was born I was introduced to the wonderful world of gemstones. I was instantly fascinated by them and so began my love affair with making jewelry. (Not to mention the many old black and whites from the 30's and 40's that I love to watch just because of the clothing and jewelry). :-)

Today I use the collective memories of my past and present to create my crafts, with the intention of passing on to you a wonderful, uplifting, soothing, rejuvenating and comforting memory and experience.
