Compassion Art and Fashion was born out of the desire to help those who could not help themselves. When pictures of the children who were victims of the devastating Haiti earthquake were seen by my daughter on the television, she felt great compassion for children who had so little and lost so much. We decided we must do something whatever that was to help. We couldn’t go there but we could try to raise money to help feed the children. We began searching for and buying plain flip flops and headbands.
My daughter and I spent many joyous hours embellishing them with jewels, flowers and ribbons and making flower hair clips. We held several fundraisers with support of our local school and community. We donated the money we raised to the local Kids Against Hunger program that was packaging food for Haiti.
