About
My name is Angela I am an independent artist and owner of Cotton Bird Designs. I carry out administration, sourcing materials, creating the designs. hand sewing, photography, processing and packing…plus everything else in-between!

My Work
I create works using vintage fabrics, mainly linen cotton and silk. I also recycle fabrics and incorporate found, discarded items in some pieces such as my book boats. I am continually collecting 'useful' things and have built up quite a substantial collection of vintage fabrics, books, maps, and papers! Working with these materials I create my little song birds, book boats and more recently textile flowers. I prefer to hand stitch and most of my work is created using this method.

About my birds
I designed and created my little bird sculpture several years ago and opened my shop 'Cotton Bird Designs' on Etsy in 2007. They have been developed and 'finely tuned' over the years from my original design concept to the little birds you see in my shop today.
Their distinctive shape, artistic interpretation and use of materials have made them easily recognisable as my ‘signature' work.
Many of my little birds have found happy homes all over the world, -thank you to my wonderful customers for their continued support of independent artists!
